The 2025 film JOE is dedicated to
Larry Reiner and Stan Weston
who invented the concept of the poseable toy soldier,
Don Levine and his team at Hasbro
who developed the concept and created the G.I. Joe action figure,
Hasbro head Merrill Hassenfeld
who made it all possible,
Sculptor Philip Kraczkowski
who gave Joe his face,
Bill Pugh, Bob Brechin and others at Palitoy UK
who gave him realistic hair, gripping hands, and a British touch,
Countless women in Japan and Hong Kong
who hand made his clothes,
and anyone else who contributed to the creation, development
and fabrication of GI Joe, Action Man, Geyperman or Action Joe.
For millions of children around the world, the first action figure became
much more than a toy. To many it was a friend, sometimes their closest
friend, sometimes their only friend.
Some believe that their love breathed life into Joe.
